This is the first time I saw the show after reading the comics of that series. They were different stories between the comics and the TV show, but I enjoyed them both.

My thoughts: The Baby Sitters Club has a new member who joined three months ago from California named Dawn. She happily babysits three crazy kids from the Barett family. It is not easy babysitting these kids. She wanted the mom to give a few instructions and information about the kids but she didn't. Will Dawn manage to babysit the Barett kids ?
My favorite character: Kristy
Dr. Zomboss, the boss of a huge zombie colony is always trying to destroy Neighborville and rule it. However, Crazy Dave, Patrice, Nate and the plants try to stop him. As Dr. Zomboss improves his plots by learning from his mistakes, it gets harder and harder to stop him. Will he succeed in his evil plans or will these trustworthy heroes save the town of Neighborville?

My thoughts: City Critters explains all the different kind of critters we have in our cities from raccoons and skunks to house flies, pigeons and spiders. It also includes fish and sea lions ! There are a lot of details in this book. I stopped mid-way, but older children may find the entire book interesting. (The book also has some gross photos of insects)
Interesting fact: Seals can also be city critters !
Kristy, a member of the Baby Sitters Club has a step sister named Karen. These 2 books go over the ups and downs of Karen's life.

My thoughts: Mallory is part of the Baby Sitters Club. In this book she is babysitting twins, but they are so alike that she can only recognize them from each other by their bracelet. For some reason, the twins remove their bracelets and trouble Mallory because now she is confused. This leads to some problems. Why are the twins doing this ? What will Mallory do ?

My thoughts: This book would have been interesting if I was 5. However, I did learn some new facts. The book is very simple and if you are an older kid, you can skip this 4-in-1 book.
My favorite fact: Snow ,monkeys (macaques) live in the cold mountains of Japan. During winter, they bathe in the hot mountain water to warm up.

My thoughts: I loved this book so much, that I re-read it. This time, I could understand the book even better, making it even more fun to read than the first time. You should definitely read this book at some point in your life.

My thoughts: Pebble, a monster has always lived in a cave inside a magical forest that protects him and his family. He has to go to the human world to find a house where he can unlock his true monster skills. If a monster does not unlock their skills in time, they have to go back to the magical forest and try again later. Originally Pebble did not want to go. Will he unlock his skills? Will Pebble soon start liking the human world and want to stay?

She wants to start her own club, the Kittycat club because two of her best friends both have cats and so they are going to the members of this club. Karen's other best friend is jealous that she does not get to be in the club, and almost nobody is calling them for their services. What is going to happen to the Kittycat club ?

My thoughts: Sweet Pea is having his normal fun life in the city of Parkville. Two new friends move in, Casper and Jelly. The return of the golden bone (a chew bone which you will learn about in the book) is happening soon. However when the staff from the museum gets the box where the bone is supposed to be, it is empty! There are a ton of people in Parkville, and only one Sweet Pea to figure out how to get the bone back. How will detective Sweet Pea retrieve the golden bone and save the residents of Parkville.

My thoughts: Zip, a whale, gets something attached to himself by humans. He is very scared and asks other whales if they have been in this situation. By doing this he gets to learn other whale facts and makes a podcast about it. You will learn many fun facts about whales. I found some parts of this a bit too complex.
My favorite fact: North Pacific Humpback whales blow bubbles to surround schools of fish, trapping them in "bait balls". Then they take turns feeding into these bait balls.

My thoughts: Jack and Annie are invited to a party in Austria a long time ago. There they met a little boy who makes fun of Jack. As Jack bowed to the queen, his flute and all his accessories fell off and everyone in the room laughed embarrassing him.
